Motorcycles in Karachi are ubiquitous because the cost of buying a car is becoming more and more out of reach for many people. I bought my car 4 years ago, and if I were to sell it today, I would sell a second-hand car for twice the price I bought it at. This runaway inflation is a direct result of incompetence and corruption on the top, combined with the IMF’s batshit crazy rules for extending loans that we really don’t need. A former Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz, once paid off our IMF loans completely. Needless to say, he was deposed soon after.
